mAh Rating

The milliampere-hour (mAh) is the rate of how long it takes for a battery to discharge. It has nothing to do with the output power.

Batteries - First Series

The first series of battery packs or the batteries produced during 2005 and 2006 are now considered to be obsolete by many battery manufactures. They used a battery produced by Sanyo Electric Company, the Ni-MH 2100 model HR-3U 1.2V, it is a Nickel Metal Hydride battery. It provides a total of 2100 mAh with a minimal of 2000 mAh. The batteries can be re-charged a total of 1,000 times before they need to be replaced. At the time, in 2005/2006, these batteries were well used in many applications. The batteries had a good battery life, good recharge life, and lasted 25% longer then the prior years model. They had a typical short shelf life of less than 90 days in normal temperature conditions. They weight 29 grams each. Two batteries are used per rechargeable battery pack.

First Generation Batteries (2005/2006)
The Xbox 360 Battery Pack is a great item until it starts to get old and starts to lose its charge. You have the option to replace them with better batteries.

Manufacturing

I have found the battery packs that MS produced in 2006 had batteries that were produced in Feburary of 2006 and May of 2006. So the batteries are newly produced when installed.
